Pep Bosch is a London based cinematographer who has worked across film (16mm & 35mm) and digital mediums in fiction, documentaries, commercials and music videos around the world.
A native of Girona, Catalonia, Pep first laid hands on a camera at age 15 and has, since then, developed his skills and style in an autodidactic way. His fascination towards cinema grew alongside photography, taking him to study an undergraduate degree on Film Studies in ESCAC and a MA in NFTS specializing in Cinematography.
In 2016, his journey through cinema began with “Sasha”, a documentary directed by Fèlix Colomer and nominated for the Jury Special Mention Award at Seminci in Valladolid.
In 2017, Pep cofounded Limmat Films and shot his major documentary work; “Made In China”, directed by Marc Chica.
In 2018, Pep made the move to the UK to study a MA in Cinematography in the NFTS. Pep’s standout projects are “City of Lost Children” by Misha Vertkin, “Ya’Aburnee” by Riffy Ahmed and “Mandem” by John Ogunmuyiwa, produced by Disney UK.
In 2020, Pep and John Ogunmuyiwa collaborated once again in “Precious Hair & Beauty”. An ode to the mundanity and madness of the high street, told through the window of an African Hair Salon, the short film is produced by the BBC and the BFI, and it is part of the official selection of Sundance, London Film Festival and Edinburgh International Film Festival.
In 2021, Pep moved to Beirut to start to shoot a documentary about “Persona Collective”, a group of international artists. The main goal is the creation of cross-border exchange using art as an empowerment tool while reclaiming human rights and promoting self-sufficiency.
Although his work has taken him across the globe, Pep’s love for his hometown is the centre of his art. If you ever find yourself walking the streets of Girona, see if you can spot his flies on the walls, a callback to the legend of St Narcís that blends cultural heritage and modern urban art.
With a positive attitude and always eager to learn, Pep is ready for the next adventure.
